A shining example how kinky erotica can seamlessly co exist with plot driven, action packed story and give you heart melting, soul touching memories. AE Lister is a very interesting author that can effortlessly deliver books with different flavours, wildly varying from historical to modern contemporary, but always with her typical signature - kink and BDSM elements, woven in to spike the spice.

Right from the dedication, “To those who know who they are,” AE Lister evokes images of strong, self-confident people, people who are devoted to exploring what brings them serenity and joy, folks who don’t settle for less than achieving all they deserve.

AE Lister does an amazing job incorporating the challenges of this time period into the story. Charming, old-timey speech sets the stage, as well as stunning descriptions of the majesty of the area. Add the details of the extreme traveling conditions, and it’s painfully easy to envision the couple shivering under their wagon for warmth at night.

As a reader, I was really there with all my senses - AE Lister's excellent descriptions exuded an incredibly strong sense of warmth and comfort and transported me straight to the Victorian era, which was an absolute delight. Subtle touches of humour were woven into all the little details.

Simon on the other hand is cheeky and slutty, and in no way ashamed of those things. There's plenty of good smut in this book, with a humorous edge, very typical for the author.

I was expecting a seafaring tale of storms and terror and bloodthirsty pirates. What I got was a HILARIOUS comedy at sea with an absolute riot of a main character whose only skill in life is sucking dick and being a brat. This book sits firmly in the same category as ‘Our Flag Means Death’ and Alexandra Rowland’s ‘Running Close To The Wind’.

Loved it! Pirates + paranormal + AE Lister is an exceptionally good time.
I enjoyed the living daylights out of this romp. It's got the brash comedic flair of the best parts of George MacDonald Fraser's Harry Flashman series, without the misogyny & racism. Very high heat.
I'm prepared to surrender my pieces of eight as future instalments are released.

Lister always develops wonderfully complex characters, and like I mentioned everything is told in the first person from Jimmy’s point of view. Plus the descriptions of life during this time are spectacular. Lister truly sets the stage for a life filled with trials, as well as a whole lot of love and friendship. And all the books in this series are simply fascinating.

My favourite aspect of AE Lister's series, and indeed all the books of theirs I've read so far, is the inclusivity and acceptance. These worlds are a safe space. Of course, they don't shy away from the harshness of life. They aren't totally sugar-coated. But the good guys always come out on top (or bottom, or wherever the heck they want to be) and most importantly, they find their people.

I especially like the way Nic continues to be portrayed and how he interacts with Matteo. Vincent grows so much in this book, both in confidence and into his proclivities... This book takes their relationship deeper and lets them explore MMM scenes and also really explores the dynamic of control.

Wow, I admit I haven't read ponyplay before but damn, this was hot stuff. I'm sure the ranch setting gave it a more intense vibe but I was very invested in this story from the start. All of the characters were very charismatic even the secondary characters to the story, the ranch hands who had a 'Dom' role heightened your senses; I was mesmerised.

WOW, so hot I think my Kindle almost burst into flames!
I adore medical kink, and A.E. Lister paints the perfect picture of a pervy physician in Skeletal Equation. Jericho is a dream come true, and his naughty sidekick Pascal has a few tricks up his sleave as well. They've got plans to deliver as much as Scott can handle.
